HERB LEA MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT RULES
1. All Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA) rules and fines policies are in effect.
2. All appeals will be heard, at the Clearwater Arena, within two (2) hours of the completion of the game and MUST be accompanied with a $50.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit.
3. Any player receiving a major penalty for fighting will be suspended for the remainder of the tournament, including the championship. (if applicable)
4. The designated home team is responsible for sweater changes in the event that conflicts arise in color. Teams must provide sweater colors when filling out game sheet prior to game.
1. All games will consist of three (3), fifteen (15) minute running time periods
2. One (1), 30 second Time out per game. This Time out will be during regulation play only.
3. The last two minutes of the third period will be stop time if the goal differential is three (3) or less. At the two minute mark, it will be stop time or run. This will NOT change throughout the final two minutes (if the goal differential changes)
4. There will be a 2 minute break between the first and second periods, and another 2 minute break between the second and third period. Teams CANNOT leave the playing area during the break and must be ready for the draw to begin the next period.
5. Games begin at the scheduled start time. Warm-up time will not take place on the floor.
6. Games tied at the end of regulation time shall remain a tie. NO OVERTIME in round robin play.
7. All divisions, except the Novice, will play a three game round robin. After the round robin play is complete, the top 2 teams in each division will play for the championship. (1st vs 2nd and 3rd vs 4th )
8. The Novice division will play a 4 game round robin. After the round robin play is complete, the top 2 teams will play for the championship.
(1st vs 2nd and 3rd vs 4th )
1. During round-robin play, teams will be awarded two (2) points for a victory, and one (1) for a tie.
2. If after the completion of the round-robin play a tie exists in the point standings the following procedure will be used to break the tie:
(a) The record of the respective teams in head to head competition.
(b) If still tied, Goal Average Formula [ GF/(GF +GA)] will be used
(c) If still tied, fewest goals allowed by the team will be used
(d) If still tied, the fewest penalty minutes will be used
(e) If still tied, a coin toss will be used
3. For the purpose of the Goal Average Formula, eight (8) is the maximum differential between
“Goals for” and “goals against.” FOR EXAMPLE: If a team wins by the score of 15 to 2, the winning team will get “credit” for a score of 10 to 2.
1. Games will consist of three (3), fifteen (15) minute running periods.
2. For TYKE & NOVICE, the last two (2) minutes of the third period shall be stop time if the goal differential is three (3) or less.
3. For PEE WEE, BANTAM & MIDGET, the last five (5) minutes of the third period will be stop time if the goal differential is three (3) or less.
4. Breaks between periods are the same as “ROUND ROBIN PLAY.”
5. Tie games in the championship will be broken by a Ten (10) minute running overtime-sudden victory.
6. There will be NO breaks or time-outs permitted after regulation time is completed
